Error increases with distance

247/268

I have a friend who claimed that he was a 280 bowler. Now, I do not know much bout bowling, but I know enough, and a 280 average is rare. Calling his bluff, we proceeded to the bowling alley where a high stakes bet ensued.

I was dumbfounded as my friend picked up his ball and proceeded to walk the entire length of lane. He stopped two feet short of the pins when he forcefully tossed the ball knocking them all down.

Crying foul, I told him that he could not do that – that there was a line on the lane for reason – that he would have to toss his ball from back here.

He looked at me and said, “Why would I do that… error increases with distance.”

And this is our story. Error increases with distance. We believe that the further we get from you, the more opportunity for error. The more opportunity for disconnect. For rebellion. For failure.
